In my thesis class, we have one on ones with the professor to update them about our projects, paper, and assignments. When we're not meeting with them, we discuss our assignments and projects with classmates. Tonight we were discussing our paper drafts. I was helping an international student with her paper, editing grammar and sentences, teaching her how to quote articles and papers properly, and getting her to write what she wants to say properly. I spent a good hour with her doing that. She reads mine for a few minutes and says "this is perfect, nothing I can do to make it better." I understand English not being her first language, but come on... it's not like hers is bad.
Then there were other students who were on their phones or watching YouTube or playing games instead. This is a fucking MASTER's program, not high school computer class.
At least one of my other classmates read my draft and gave helpful feedback.

If you look over your paper, paragraph 7 there is a comma that doesn't need to be there, And on page 3 paragraph 2, you may want to reword that whole thing. It just doesn't.... I can't.

I've come to the conclusion that many masters programs aren't as prestigious or as much of an achievement as I once though they were.

She might've been trying to be polite since you helped her so much. As for the others? Write them off.
